Role: Senior Barista

Part-time & full-time positions | $24–$26/hour

Double Great Coffee is a neighborhood cafe on Munjoy Hill in Portland, Maine. We’re looking for experienced baristas who loves making excellent coffee, welcomes customers warmly, and can keep the bar running smoothly through a busy morning rush.

Our Senior Baristas lead through skill, teamwork, and example—maintaining drink quality, supporting coworkers, and helping train newer baristas.

What we’re looking for

• Experience working in a high-volume café and handling rushes with speed, organization, and calm communication.

• Strong espresso skills, including independently dialing in, tasting, and troubleshooting shots.

• Consistent milk steaming and latte art skills with both dairy and alternative milks.

• Confidence working across bar positions and anticipating what the team needs.

• A supportive approach to training and giving respectful, practical feedback.

• Warm hospitality, reliability, and a willingness to keep learning.

What you’ll do

Prepare consistently excellent drinks, monitor and adjust espresso throughout the day, and maintain a clean, organized station. You’ll help the team navigate busy service, coach coworkers on coffee quality and workflow, and flag equipment or recurring quality concerns to management.

There’s also room to contribute to coffee tastings, explore new offerings, and grow your technical and training skills.
